The third generation Corvettes originally continued the theme of big-blocks and high power. Although much of the technology didn’t change the new car looked completely different. The ‘Sharks’ however were caught up in the ‘gas crisis’ that struck the world and increasing safety legislation which meant they had to adapt a lot to changing circumstances.

Despite that, the distinctive lines of the C3s are perhaps the ones that most people identify as a Vette, and for many these are emblematic of a ‘true’ Corvette.
